Parts in the garage

The Sportster garage is more than a place to drink beer with your buddies. It is where you store your Iron Sportsters and all the stuff needed to keep them running. This section has categories about the spare parts you might need, as well as the tools or facilities needed needed to work on the bike. Once you have the bike or bikes, things soon expand to take over your whole house. You will be cleaning parts in the dishwasher and baking paint in the oven. The garage is a flexible concept with Iron Sportster owners. You might have a project bike parked in the living room where you can gaze at it now and then during TV commercials.

I rode a Honda for 10 years and ended up with an oil filter and clutch cover gasket. A few years of a Sportster and I had boxes of parts. After 20 years, I have shelves full of boxes.

You can keep old parts in case your bike breaks down. Another use is to mix and match years, maybe a 1959 tank on your 1977 Ironhead.

Some parts are just nice to look at. No matter, here are some of the ways to store and organize your parts.
