Planetary oil pump

intended for an engine with belt-driven overhead camshafts.

This oil pump drives directly off the pinion shaft. The important design criteria is that the belt would not be captvated by the structure, That way, it is easy to replace the belt. Belt-drive overhead cams are not practical on Sportsters.
