2bigac's 1981 XLS 1000

Absolutely gorgeous 1981 ironhead Sportster dressed like a 1959. I built this bike for myself so it was done carefully. 1981-Sportster_rt.jpg
Engine & trans completely rebuilt 3000 miles ago. Winter restoration on paint & the following this year. New 23.25" forks with gators & seals. New speedo & cable. New clutch and throttle cables. New tank. New handlebars. New oil & filter, filter relocated for spin on type. New air filter. New oil & fuel lines. Brakes checked & bled. All aluminum cleaned & polished. Steering head cleaned & bearings re-packed. Small bullet signal lamps installed for less intrusive look. New retro horn. Solid state ignition & coils. New old stock pipes. New HD mufflers. New ignition switch. New petcock. S&S carb cleaned & adjusted. Tires are good, lots of tread & no checking at all. Wheels are straight with some minor pitting that cleans up well. More, but I've forgotten each new nut & bolt that I've done. This is a real head-turner and not your ordinary factory tarted-up Harley.
